Jacana has added another notch to its belt with a massive 93-point win over Keilor Park on Saturday.
The teams were evenly matched in the first quarter, with a one-behind margin separating the scores; however, Jacana bounced back in the second, leading 9-6-60 to 1-5-11.
By three-quarter time, the win had been secured, with Jacana having scored two more goals; the final quarter was, put simply, a cakewalk for the team, who walked away with 20-12-132 to Keilor Park’s 5-9-39.
Coach Aaron Collins was extremely pleased with the result.
“It went real well, very impressive,” Mr Collins said.
“Basically, we had a plan to work very hard in the first half, and I think we did that.”
Mr Collins believes that after the first half it went “great” for the team.
“Bryce Kumilitas was one of our best with seven goals; among others were Corey McCawley and Jake and Aaron Austin, as well as Michael Evans and new recruit Dylan Wolfgramm,” Mr Collins said when describing the efforts of the players.
The team’s new plan for the coming rounds was described as putting some pressure on themselves as well as the opposition, and Mr Collins believes that if they keep going this way within the next two weeks, it should secure more wins and possible finals positions.
